Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 June 2026

1. Who we are

TrustedOwner is a platform where consumers can register products they own and write honest, time-based reviews after 3, 6, 12 and 24 months of real use. We are based in Denmark and subject to EU data protection law (GDPR).

For questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@trustedowner.com.

2. What data we collect

When you use TrustedOwner, we collect:

  • Account information — your name and email address, obtained via Google, Apple or Facebook login.
  • Product registrations — product name, brand, purchase date, store, price and warranty information you enter.
  • Reviews — the text, rating, photos and other content you submit as part of a review.
  • Usage data — pages visited and actions taken, used to improve the service.

We do not collect payment information. We never sell your personal data.

3. Why we use your data

  • To create and maintain your account.
  • To send you review reminders at 3, 6, 12 and 24 months after your purchase date.
  • To publish your reviews publicly on product pages so others can benefit from them.
  • To improve the platform and fix errors.

The legal basis for processing is contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — we need this data to deliver the service you signed up for.

4. Public reviews

Reviews you submit are published publicly on TrustedOwner product pages and may be indexed by search engines and AI assistants. Your display name may be shown alongside your review. Do not include personal information in your review text that you do not wish to be public.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Your account and product registrations are kept for as long as your account is active.
  • Published reviews are kept indefinitely to maintain the integrity of the review history.
  • If you delete your account, your personal information is removed, but anonymised review content may be retained.

6. Who we share data with

We use the following third-party services to operate TrustedOwner:

  • Supabase — database and authentication (hosted in the EU).
  • Vercel — hosting and deployment.
  • Google / Apple / Facebook — login providers. Their privacy policies apply to the login step.

All sub-processors are bound by data processing agreements and may only use your data to provide services to us.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your account and personal data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object — object to processing in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@trustedowner.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.dk.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you by email. Continued use of TrustedOwner after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
